“I became semi-retired and joined Blood Bikes Cumbria 2 1/2 years ago to do something positive after running a guest house in Keswick for nearly 20 years.
I have a good friend who was a rider and got to know quite a bit about the organisation and after seeing a recruitment advert, I decided to sign up. I recieved great 1-1 training and since then I have been priveledged to volunteer for a fantastic group and work with a lot of really special people.
My original aim was to become a rider/driver…however, I became acquainted with a garage door on a motorbike at home and a wall on a moped in Minorca. I would still like to do my advanced driving test after the COVID backlog has cleared, as I love driving and I am a little more successful in a car than on a bike ie no major accidents in 40 years of driving! I also volunteer driving for Cumbria County Council so I can see definately see it happening soon.
I have been proud to support this group throughout the last 18 months and have every respect for all our members who give up their time so willingly.”
